I used the super fun November kit “Rock Star Stuff”  for the latest sketch over at Sketchabilities, and I thought it was perfect for this photo of me and my lovely Godson who I spent a little time with when I went back to Sweden a few months back. Here’s the sketch I used:

My computer has died so no detail shots today, but check back later next week and I will hopefully have some detail shots added!

Hello Happy from Ashley

I have to admit, that I have a very hard time throwing away useable scraps.  If you are working with a Kit, it’s a good idea to keep those scraps stored with your Kit and next time you do a layout, find fun ways to use them on your page.  For this layout, I had several strips of paper that were left over from cutting some of the papers for my other pages.  I arranged the different strips under my photo and the text banner piece to create my page design.  This gave me a great base design, and then I used some of the stickers and embellishments from the Kit to finish my layout.

Guest Designer Call Project Life – 2014

Are you enthusiastic about Project Life? (A concept originally created by Becky Higgins) Do you take fabulous photos? Do you have a blog and are you active on Facebook or other social media? Are you great with deadlines and commitments? Do you LOVE new products, all put together in a kit for you – ready to create with?

If this is you – you might be perfect for Crazy Monday Project Life Kits!

We are still not big enough to have a regular Design Team, so instead we have new guests each month, inspiring our subscribers and everyone else using our monthly PL kits. This will be the first time we invite guests to showcase the Project Life kit – a very important job to do!!

If you would like to be considered for a GDT spot with us in 2014, please send the following to crazymondaykits@gmail.com by December 15th:

· Name and location (international applicants welcome)

· Brief biography, including any crafting experience/interests

· A sentence or two about why you would be perfect for Crazy Monday Project Life Kits

· Links to your blog, online galleries and any other places where you would be promoting Crazy Monday Kits

· A list of past and current design team experience (previous design team experience is not required)

· Photos of three Project Life that best represent your style and showcase your abilities, and if you also send some of your best LO’s – that’s great too

· Please put “GDT Call – PL” in the subject line of your email

Good luck!

More inspiration from Ashley

I knew I couldn’t create with this Kit, without doing a Disney layout, using the fun Say Cheese papers and sticker sheet from Simple Stories.  The sticker sheet included in the Kit, gives you great options for embellishing your pages.  I thought it would be fun to mix in a lot of the stickers in my page design and I added pop dots under several of them for some dimension.  I also used the Hot Diggity Studio Calico spray mist with a Chevron mask, that I had in my stash.  Once the mist was dry, I outlined the shapes with a fine point Black Sharpie for added definition.

ASHLEY HORTON

Ashley

My name is Ashley Horton and I live in the Southern US, with my husband Tyler and our three kids ages 7, 5, and 4.  I’ve been Scrapbooking for over 7 years, and I love documenting the antics of my children on my layouts.  I have had the privilege of serving on several Design Teams over the years.  I have been published in Creating Keepsakes magazine, Life.Paper.Scrapbook Magazine, and PaperHaus Magazine.  I describe my style, as Cutesy Eclectic and I enjoy using a mix of products and techniques on my layouts.  Other than Scrapbooking, I enjoy cooking, reading, spending time with family, and watching movies with my hubby.

I am beyond excited to have Ahsley showcasing the November kit! She is such an inspiration, and she is part of DT’s for a few of my favourite companies 🙂

DON’T FORGET THAT WE HAVE A NEW GDT CALL OUT AT THE MOMENT!!

Here is Ashley’s first LO with the November kit “Rock Star Stuff”:

I love the mix of Pink Paislee and Simple Stories in the Kit.  And with so many fun pieces in the Pink Paislee embellishment pack, I knew I wanted to add a lot of layers to my page.  I layered the papers behind my two photos and use some of the paper pieces and vellum pieces.  I also added some star pieces to my layout and thought it would be cute to dot the “I”‘s in my title, with one of the stars.
