May LO’s from Michelle and Hannah

As I am still waiting for May’s GDT to receive her kit (you have probably guessed she’s living quite far away!), I’d like to share two LO’s with the May kit created by Hannah Blair & Michelle Whorwood. I can always trust them to rock my kits!

First up Hannah’s LO, inspired by a sketch I did 🙂

Crop & Classes day – second tutor

Here’s the introduction of the second tutor for our Crop & Classes day on 15th February 2014:

MICHELLE WHORWOOD

Hi, my name is Michelle Whorwood  and I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years now!!  I am a SAHM to three gorgeous kids Liam who is 9 1/2, Taylor Grace who is 3 and Aimee Rose who almost 20 months.   I’m married to a super supportive lovely man (Gary) and we live in Albany on the North Shore of Auckland.

Scrapbooking is my creative outlet, my indulgent me time where I get to document the stories (the good and the bad) of my family as well as letting me enjoy one of my other favourite past times – shopping!  You could describe my scrapbook style as a bit eclectic and definitely fun.  I love using colour – taking inspiration from my photos, the stories and from the products themselves.  You will find lots of layering and little details on my layouts.  I also love trying to find new ways to use embellishments and enjoy pushing my style in definitely directions.

I currently design for the sketch challenge site Creative Scrappers and have been super lucky to be on several design teams over the last few years including Scrappin’ Patch, D-lish Scraps, Challenge Me Happy & guest designer at Crazy Monday Scrapbooking Kits. I have also had layouts featured on the Crate Paper blog, and for challenges at Prima Marketing, the Color Room, Sketchy Thursdays, Kraft it Up, Color Stories Inspiration and Sketchabilities.

I really enjoy sharing techniques, tips and ideas through my design team commitments and in my scrapbook classes. Over the years I have taught many beginner and technique classes but most recently I was a tutor at the 2013 Scrappin’ Patch Spring Retreat in Christchurch.

Visit Michelle’s blog here: http://harbourgal.wordpress.com/

Michelle will do LAYOUT class at the crop. The class cost is $50 (including products), on top of the crop fee which is $40.  BUT there will be a special offer for those who book themselves in to both classes on the day, details will come later!

Please email me on crazymondaykits@gmail.com if you’d like to register for the Crop day, and for Michelle’s class. Here’s a refresher about the day itself:

Special Guest Appearance

As August and September didn’t really work out as planned here at Crazy Monday HQ, the planned GDT did not get a kit. So I called on help from my friends. And therefore we have special guest appearance from my dear friends and previous guest designers Michelle Whorwood and Hannah Blair this month. They both spent the weekend away on a scrappy retreat, and have worked hard to give us lovely example for the September kit “Hello Hello”. Please note that they might have used a few items from previous kits or from their own stash in the LO’s, but it’s mainly from the kit. I know you will be VERY insipired!

One LO each from Michelle and Hannah today, come back soon for more inspiration:

Last share from Michelle

Big thanks to Michelle Whorwood for all the inspiration you have given us with the March Kit “Snippets of Happiness”.

Here is Michelle’s last share with the kit, and this is what she has to say about it:

This is the last layout I have to share with you with the March CMK Kit.

Thank you Annelie for the lovely opportunity to showcase this fabulous kit.  I have really loved working with March kit.  Mostly, because the colours have been so versatile for both masculine and feminine layouts which is perfect for me because I have both girls and boys to scrap about.   I also have loved getting my hands on some papers from a couple of different manufacturers and of course there is lots of cool embellishments to be had in the kit as well.

As this is the last layout with the kit it was all about layering smaller pieces of patterned paper to create a little collage behind my photo.  A couple of strips of washi on a textured background.  I added the last of the cute wood veneer arrows to the right-hand edge of my photo (there seemed to be a never ending supply of these in the kit) to create balance with the heavy chipboard title on the left.  I also slipped in another instax frame on top of a wee wax bag from my stash which holds my journalling.  Added twine for more texture to finish.

Thanks again Annelie for having me on board and I hope that I have been able to give you some ideas  on how to use up your March kit or perhaps encouraged you to sign up for a Crazy Monday Kit yourself.

Cheers
Michelle

More inspiration from Michelle Whorwood

Aren’t these little polaroid frames so cute!!  I had lots of fun using them on this layout.  They are a great addition to the kit, they go a long way with 15 in the kit in 4 different colours too.  On this layout I have used two of them to include two smaller photos.  I decided that even though the colours of the frames were great, I wanted a more neutral base so I reversed one of them so I had a white frame.  You could easily do this with all of the frames in the kit.  Again, I have used the same patterned paper that I have used on my first layout I shared with you to create fun little titles and to include the date on this layout.  Lastly,I just love using shipping tags to include some journalling on my pages.  Here I have  included some hidden journalling on the shipping tag that is just slotted behind the patterned paper finished with some of the cute twine!

Hopefully I have inspired you to get out your March kit and get creating!
