Lizzy Hill – Sept GDT – Part 4

Hiya Crazy Monday Fans!

Today we are sharing Lizzys last creations with our September Scrapbooking kit and some stamps from her stash.

Lizzy has created three cards with the last pieces of her kit:

sept14 CM cards ALL

Not really much to say about these as they are pretty self-explanatory, except those Heidi S words are brill for cards…..the enamel dots add a bit of pop and the string is a lovely finishing touch to a card. I actually thought I was a bit clever using some of the pp that said ‘Yay’ & ‘explain’…worked well for a birthday! Similarly, the pp with the cute words on it make a nice card background.

And a few close-up shots:

Thank you for being our GDT Lizzy, we have loved seeing your work with our September scrapbooking kit and I hope you all have too!

Lizzy Hill – Sept GDT – Part 3

Hiya Crazy Monday Fans!

It’s time for another layout from our GDT Lizzy Hill using our September Scrapbooking kit.

Since I’ve done a baby boy, a girly girl…..I thought I’d do a Man page……..just to show you HOW versatile I found this kit to be.

As soon as I spied ‘The Good Life’ badge [& aren’t THEY the yummiest, largest, most delicious badges out???!!!]….I KNEW it had a home. So, my page got built around a badge! I wonder how yours get built?

Anyways, I decided since this was my 3rd page, that I’d use up the bits of patterned paper by cutting them into strips. The card stock from the kit went perfectly with my photos – BONUS! So I randomly cut & placed the strips on my page, popped on my photo & knew I didn’t want to move a thing. But you know how you can NEVER get the papers exactly the same again? Sometimes I’ll take a photo as a guide. But my LOVELY DH [starring here!] actually got me a long arm stapler for my birthday. So I used that to attach the papers. Easy peasy!

Did you see the speech bubble I used for my journaling? Another one cut out of the patterned paper – worked a treat!

I LOVED the little clouds, & adding a fine black border made them ‘pop’ nicely. I like to extend them over the edges of my page, so I’ve cut one & used it on either side. The enamel dots added some interest, and once again, those Heidi Swapp words ended up being just what I wanted for the title. And of course, it all matched without me having to do a thing….that’s the beauty of these LOVELY Crazy Monday kits….happy scrapping – Lizzy ♥♥♥

Lizzy Hill – Sept GDT – Part 2

Hiya Crazy Monday Fans!

Today we would like to share our September GDT, Lizzy Hill’s, second layout made with our September kit.

I spied this LOVELY word paper, & thought it would work perfectly for this girl page…so I chopped them up & created a banner, once again using that lovely pliable paper string.

The journaling is also comes from the patterned paper. Since it had what looked like a pencil border around it, out came my pencil – added a few circles and arrow, & then I decided to journal in the pencil as well.

I ADORE those Heidi Swapp words in the kit. For the title I simply stapled one over some more of the string behind it.

This page didn’t need anything else – the paper is quite busy, as is the photo collage. As they say, sometimes less is more!

Thanks Lizzy! Looking forward to the rest of your creations over the next few days.

LIZZY HILL

Hi! My name is Lizzy Hill & I live on the Central Coast in NSW, Australia. I’m blessed not to have to work [atm!], so if I’m not scrapping, I’m looking out for my Grand Boy, dog & husband. I’ve got 2 boys in their 20s, so they’re well & truly independent [yay!].  I’ve been scrapping for around 5 years, & absolutely adore this  craft for its variety. Consequently, I’d say my style was ‘eclectic’. I’ll try any style, depending on the photos, the papers, the mood I’m in – or simply to challenge myself! Nothing like a change every now and then, right?!! Mostly I scrap LOs, but I dabble in cards & Off the Page projects as well.

I am very fortunate to have been published a fair bit in the Australian mag, Scrapbooking Memories, & also write articles for the UK mag ‘Scrap365’. My Design Teams atm include Once Upon a…Sketch, LESSology, Scrap365 & Off the Rails. I’m also an ambassador for BOSTIK products! So I keep busy. I’m hoping I can inspire you this month with the FABULOUS kit that Annelie has put together…& hoping you’ll join me on this scrappy journey!

You can find Lizzy at her blog: http://lizzyhill12.blogspot.com.au/

Here is Lizzy’s first layout:

Inspiration: I saw that lovely little goodnight image on the flip side of the paper…& immediately thought of a photo I’d just taken of my Grandson sleeping….LOOOVE those serendipitous moments! Then I thought it would be nice to highlight the YUMMY paper string in the kit…..& since this is about sleeping, a circle, like a sort of moon shape, behind seemed a cool idea to create.  And I couldn’t go past this AMAZING denim paper….& denim and stitching are a match made in heaven!

I really wanted to journal my story here, so I created a little journal pocket out of some of the pp….I’ve used a punch to give some interest to the edge….& only bothered stitching on the side of the pocket that will be showing.

And for a dark bg page like this, Liquid Paper makes SUPERB splotches for a bit more interest…….the only things NOT in this month’s kit were staples, liquid paper and the punch I used.

Hoping this inspires you to a little sewing, LOL…..if you know me at all you will know I ABHORE hand stitching….so if  I can do it, I’m sure you can too;)
