Michelle Tan – November GDT – Part 5

Hiya Crazy Monday Fans,

I recieved a little surprise email from our November GDT this week – she has created another two layouts with our November Scrapbooking Kit!

Thank you Michelle, its great to see just how far one kit can stretch!

Layout 5

This is a small layout for my wedding album (6.25 x 8.25 inches) – As this is not an actual scrapbook per se, I’ve kept the layout pretty simple, just a few small embellishments to draw attention to the photo. I LOVE the flower die cut and I’ve been saving it to use on a special page. The card stock and gold polka dot vellum are not part of the kit.

Layout 6

Layout 6 Detail

I wanted to do another wedding photo layout, so this is the outcome. I love the beautiful striped paper from Amy Tangerine but the problem is I love the other side too! So I decided that I would use just a portion of it in this layout. I used the white card stock as a base and had a cut file (You+Me) lying around so I thought I would use that as a little mask for the background to add interest. I then layered the Amy Tangerine paper along with the gold polka dot vellum (not part of the kit). I knew I wanted to use the poppy cut file from IHeartStudio which I colored with Zig Winks of Stella in Clear and White. I used quite a number of the Teresa Collins stickers on this page as you can see, coupled with the enamel dots.

Once again, a huge thank you to Michelle for creating 6 beautiful layouts to share with us.

🙂 Joanne.

“This is our week” with Annelie – Day 3 & 4

Hi Crazy Monday Fans! Today I’m sharing day 3 & 4 of my “This Is Our Week” album. Here is a run down of what I did:

  • For my album I am using a Studio Calico “Handbook” album that has been collecting dust for a while in my scrap studio.
  • I have of course used the “This Is Our Week” kit from the shop. I’ve also used some old and new shop & kit items, plus Becky Higgins cards from my stash.
  • I took photos with my Instax, and with my iPhone. The iPhone photos were edited in the “PicTapGo” app.
  • The 3×4 photos were made as collages in Becky Higgins Project Life App before I printed them.
  • I printed my iPhone photos on my Selphy.
  • I also dusted off my typewriter and used that for my journaling, and my sewing machine has also got a bit of a workout!
  • I found that the pockets for my album didn’t really hold photos and cards, so I used my Tim Holtz mini stapler to fasten them. Does it bother me? Nope. It’s more important that people can look through the album without things falling out!

OK – here we go:

Michelle Tan – November GDT – Part 4

Hiya Crazy Monday Fans!

Today we have the very last layout from our very last GDT to share with you. Bit of a bittersweet moment!

Layout 4

I love bright colors for my background at times and I love how the black Thickers provides a contrast here. I used I Heart Studio heart frames which I backed with paper from the kit. Then I layered stickers and enamel dots on them.

Layout 4 Detail

Once again, I would like to thank Michelle for being our final GDT. She has done an amazing job and I hope you have loved her work as much as we have.

🙂 Joanne.

Michelle Tan – November GDT – Part 3

Hiya Crazy Monday Fans,

Here’s another beautiful layout from our November GDT, Michelle Tan, featuring a picture from her recent wedding.

Layout 3

This is by far my favorite layout so far! When I opened the kit and saw the papers, I knew I had to scrap at least one wedding photo with this kit. I chose this particular paper as my background as I love the watercolor effect. I use I Heart Studio cut files for the flowers and I honestly can’t remember who the ‘Forever and Ever’ cut file is from. I use Studio Calico Mister Huey to lightly paint over the flowers and leaves to give them a bit of color. I also used the gold Mister Huey to paint a little of the background just to mat the photo. I cut the ‘XO’ from one of the Amy Tangerine papers and stitched around the edges. I also layered the little Teresa Collins sticker and enamel dots on it.

Layout 3 Detail

Thanks Michelle, really looking forward to sharing your final layout in a couple of days.

🙂 Joanne.

Michelle Tan – November GDT – Part 2

Hiya Crazy Monday Fans!

Time for another layout from our November GDT Michelle.

Layout 2

This layout featured the little Polaroid hearts paper again (I just love it!) which I formed a little banner with using the twine. I also lightly outlined the hearts with ZIG Winks of Stella pen. In order to make the photo pop more, I used Studio Calico Mister Hueys to create a bit of a mat for the photo. I didn’t want to overwhelm this layout as the background paper is quite a busy pattern and at the same time, want to focus more on the photo as well.

Layout 2 Detail

Thanks Michelle. It’s been great to see two completely different ways to use the heart polaroid paper.

🙂 Joanne.

November GDT Reveal

Hiya Crazy Monday fans!

The time has come to reveal our final GDT, we hope you are as pleased with her work as we are!

Michelle

I’m so honoured to be the last GDT for Crazy Monday Kits. I have lived in Wellington for 15 years now and am originally from Malaysia. I got married to Deddy last December. We don’t have kids yet but I do have a super adorable niece, Alessandra who features a lot in my scrapbooking. I mainly do traditional scrapbooking and Project Life and time to time, I make a card here and there. I was previously on a few different design teams in the US, namely One Page At A Time and Scrap In Style TV. I’ve had a few layouts published in e-mags for ScrapStreet as well. These days, I scrap mainly for my own satisfaction and enjoyment. Currently I’m trying to work on Project Life and our wedding album. I’m not rushing things too much as I just want to enjoy the process. I hope I’ve inspired you some with this kit.

And here is Michelle’s first layout using our November Kit:

Layout 1

When I saw the Polaroid hearts paper, I knew straightaway that I want to cut up the little rectangles and pop them on the page. I kept this one pretty simple and added a bit of interest by stitching little ‘X’s on each of the Polaroids.

Thanks Michelle, Can’t wait to show your other 3 layouts.
