Month: December 2013

Hello December from Hayley

While we are waiting for the January kit to arrive to Crazy Monday HQ, let’s get inspired from Hayley yet again. She truly has done wonders with the December Kit!

I loved this giant chevron so  much I had to use it again,it worked so well with the text paper.

The October Afternoon labels had “to and from” at one end which was cute but not what I needed for this page as I wanted to journal on them.

So I tucked the end with the “to and from” under the photo and used the remained that was peeking out for my writing.

I popped the occasional one up with foam adhesive so it wouldn’t be completely flat.

I then finished off with the chipboard pieces, how appropriate that the mouse with the red bauble considering that my daughter is holding one that is identical!

More from Hayley

When I have a bunch of pictures of the same thing I like to scatter them around the page and then put the details, title,
journaling etc in the middle. I popped the occasional photo up on foam to give it a little dimension as most of
my other elements were flat. I finished the page off with a strip of the gold paper top and bottom and a few gems to bring it all together.

Christmas Day LO from Hayley

Didn’t I tell you Hayley has SMASHED this kit with loads of inspirational stuff… Here’s another LO for you all!

This page has more of a grid style layout which is very much me. I start with the photos, figure out how much space they will take up and see what bits and pieces I have that will compliment it. I started with the Christmas day flag and went from there. I finished it off with a bit of stitching.

More inspiration from Hayley

Hayley is back with more inspiration, and there is loads more to come. Enjoy!

I had so many ideas for the doilies that came in the kit… I decided to make one into a confetti shaker.
I made the confetti with the chic tags gold and white dot paper and added the music note veneers. I used the plastic wrapper from the chic tags to contain them and then I sewed them inside. One of my favourite things in the kit is the little tags that came on the retail strip of the elle’s studio and chictags papers. They are an awesome bonus. I used the family time and merry and bright on top of the doily.

Crop & Classes day – second tutor

Here’s the introduction of the second tutor for our Crop & Classes day on 15th February 2014:

MICHELLE WHORWOOD

IMG_7806

Hi, my name is Michelle Whorwood  and I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years now!!  I am a SAHM to three gorgeous kids Liam who is 9 1/2, Taylor Grace who is 3 and Aimee Rose who almost 20 months.   I’m married to a super supportive lovely man (Gary) and we live in Albany on the North Shore of Auckland.

Scrapbooking is my creative outlet, my indulgent me time where I get to document the stories (the good and the bad) of my family as well as letting me enjoy one of my other favourite past times – shopping!  You could describe my scrapbook style as a bit eclectic and definitely fun.  I love using colour – taking inspiration from my photos, the stories and from the products themselves.  You will find lots of layering and little details on my layouts.  I also love trying to find new ways to use embellishments and enjoy pushing my style in definitely directions.

I currently design for the sketch challenge site Creative Scrappers and have been super lucky to be on several design teams over the last few years including Scrappin’ Patch, D-lish Scraps, Challenge Me Happy & guest designer at Crazy Monday Scrapbooking Kits. I have also had layouts featured on the Crate Paper blog, and for challenges at Prima Marketing, the Color Room, Sketchy Thursdays, Kraft it Up, Color Stories Inspiration and Sketchabilities.

I really enjoy sharing techniques, tips and ideas through my design team commitments and in my scrapbook classes. Over the years I have taught many beginner and technique classes but most recently I was a tutor at the 2013 Scrappin’ Patch Spring Retreat in Christchurch.

HANNAH BLAIR

My name is Hannah, I’m 34  years old and married to Rob. We have 2 boys, Ethan (11) and Tyler (9). We live  right near the beach on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast, just north of Auckland,  NZ. I work from home as a medical writer and editor. I started scrapbooking ‘properly’ in 2005. Primarily, I scrapbook because I love the creative outlet. It’s  relaxing, therapeutic and allows me to express myself. Preserving memories for  my family and future generations is a bonus, but I make sure that all my layouts  tell a story. For this reason, I almost always include journaling on my pages.  My work is quite varied, and I don’t think I have one particular style. I like  to try lots of different things, depending on my mood, the products I am using,  and the photos I am scrapbooking. I’ve been on several Design  Teams over the years, and I’ve also taught scrapbook classes in the past.

HAYLEY STEWART

Hayley

Hiya…. My name is Hayley Stewart. I’m from Christchurch, New Zealand where I live with my football mad husband Jamie and my three small people, Olivia (7), Sophia (5) and Gabriella (1). We also have an awesome orange cat called Scholes (also a football fan).

I have been scrapbooking since 2000, way before I had my babies and I am still totally obsessed with it. I would describe my style as simple and story based.

Thanks Annelie for inviting me to guest design, I’m thrilled to be here.

Hayley has ROCKED this kit, and I am NOT kidding. Here is her first of many inspirational pieces, made with the December kit “Twinkles & Candy Canes”:

When I saw the adorable reindeer,  I knew exactly which photo I would  be doing. I loved the big chevron and all of the October Afternoon papers go together so effortlessly. I made three little clusters with veneers, gems and chipboard to finish off.
